On countless occasions, we have heard about the virtues of forgiveness. It is constantly stressed to us the importance of forgiving those who offend us. However, I think there is a very important aspect of forgiveness we constantly ignore: forgiveness has two faces. Yes, because the true act of forgiveness requires, not only forgiving that whom I point at with my index finger as my transgressor, but also that whom I point at with the other three fingers.
In our obsession to see ourselves as victims of circumstances, we forget that in every situation, we have a choice, and thus, a responsibility. We are the architects, the creators of our circumstances, including those in which we have felt offended by someone. In fact, to a large degree, the “offense” takes place when the person who “offends” us does not comply with our expectations of them. Then, doesn’t the “offense” arise from ourselves, from our tendency to give to others expecting something in return, or from our obsession to fit everyone onto our version of the world?
Forgiveness is one of the pillars of unconditional love. It is impossible to love unconditionally and not forgive. But equally, it is impossible to forgive others without forgiving ourselves first. There lies the difference between real forgiveness and forgiveness that arises from ego, and which provides us with a false tranquility because we assume having done what is right by forgiving the other. However, such tranquility is fleeting, and sooner or later, resentments resurge, because we never forgave the other main character in the story: ourselves. Remember as long as we blame others for what happens to us; we yield our power. Once we acknowledge our responsibility within the offense, we get back our power, and we can invest it towards our spiritual growth.
I invite you to reflect upon all those situations in your life in which you felt offended by others, even those instances in which you think you already forgave. Observe your true feelings, analyze the facts, not with your mind, but with your heart. I assure you will be able to identify situations in which, up to now, you had not been honest with yourself, and you had yielded your power, by denying your part of the responsibility. Those are the emotions which hold us back and do not allow us to progress on our spiritual path. Work on them. Forgive yourself, reclaim your power, and above all, love yourself just the way you are. Remember that, in the words of Lewis B. Smedes, “To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you.”
Traditionally, we associate the date February 14th with romantic love. But, have we really
analyzed what true love means, be it romantic or any other kind? Or have we created models for ourselves of what love should be, based on mass media, marketing campaigns, and dysfunctional relations around us?
Much is said about unconditional love, pure love, the love of a lifetime. But if we all have these concepts so clear in our minds, why do we constantly fail at the search for love, why do we trip over, get hurt, and even live with a broken heart, or simply disillusioned of our relationships?
Analyze this: do you love yourself? Do you accept yourself as you really are, with your weaknesses and your strengths? If your answer is ambiguous, or if it is clearly a “no”, or even a “yes” with an implied “but”, then you have identified the key piece of your puzzle. Love, in all of its manifestations, begins with self-love. Our happiness cannot be based on someone else, we can share our happiness with someone else once we learn to see it and manifest it inside ourselves. Placing in the hands of your partner (or parents, children, friends, etc.) the responsibility of making you happy, is not only a devastating weight upon them, it is a task that doesn’t correspond to them. Each of us is responsible of our own happiness, and therefore, each of us is responsible of loving ourselves before anything else.
But, how do we come to achieve the realization of that self-love? There are as many paths as there are people in the world. Because this search is a personal one, independent and internal. It is a journey we undertake through the deepest paths of our soul, in which we must face our own fears, and discover by our own means, the divinity within ourselves. To the extent we understand we are one with the Supreme Being, it becomes impossible not to love ourselves. And when we understand that we are all individual manifestations of that Supreme Being, likewise it becomes impossible not to love the rest of humanity. In this realization resides the door to unconditional love.
This said, I recommend two books that touch this theme from two very different perspectives. I confess I wrote one of them. But let’s talk first about “Letters of a Writer” (Letras de un Escritor), by my great friend Antonio L. Rivera-Rivera (https://twitter.com/antoniolrivera2). Certainly, the process of writing a book may carry with it the act of undressing one’s heart. This is the case of “Letters of a Writer” (https://www.facebook.com/letrasdeunescritor1/). Those who have invested their lives in the search for love, and its meanings, will identify themselves with this work. This introspection of the meaning of love in three times, demonstrates the author’s gradual process of self-discovery, through his interaction with the different manifestations of what we consider “love” in the different stages of our spiritual development. He opens his heart and allows us to explore it at will, and without realizing it, he guides us to explore ours as well. It is an invitation to reflection, and a practical guide for those who appreciate the value of making silence and daring to listen to the language of their intuition.
On the other hand, my first novel, “El Experimento Chicago” (The Chicago Experiment) (https://www.elexperimentochicago.com), challenges the apparent impossibility of finding unconditional love in the most compromising circumstances of the human being. Through the creation of a tridimensional world that comes to life in the mind of the reader, the story presents a couple of kindred spirits that face a morally questionable situation together, and end up undertaking a journey through the most intimate spots of their souls, which forces them to face their preconceived notions about love. A piece of erotic nature, which at the same time explores sexuality beyond the mere physical act, going from carnal to sublime, from human to sacred, and from the external expression of love, to the internal acknowledgment of our divinity.
In this celebration of Saint Valentine’s, I invite you to look at your reflection in the mirror of your own soul, and to confess your unconditional love to yourself. It is an exercise that will forever change your perspective of love and will open the doors to the incredible power of the most sublime feeling in the universe.
PS. Both books are available at Amazon.com in Spanish, both in paperback format and in digital format. The English versions for both books will be available soon.
I truly believe when the student is ready, the teacher arrives. Also, at the right moment, vocations one might have never contemplated before in one’s journey, suddenly wake up. That is how Reiki came into my life. The day I was invited to participate in the level one certification course, I didn’t have a clear view of what I was getting into. But I immediately knew Reiki was for me.
Reiki is an energetic healing system, where Universal Energy is transmitted through the imposition of hands and other techniques. The word Reiki, of Japanese origin, is divided into two significant syllables:
Rei = Spirit, Universal Energy
Ki = Vital Force, Radiant Energy
In other words, Reiki means Universal Vital Energy. One of the questions that generally crosses the mind of those exposed to this subject for the first time is this: Is Reiki a religion or is it associated with a religion? The answer is no. This is one of the great advantages of this system and the main reason it captivated me immediately. Everybody can benefit from Reiki healing, no matter what creed they profess, or even if they do not have any religious belief at all. The Reiki healer becomes an instrument in the service of the light, through the manipulation or rather the concentration of that universal life energy, in benefit of the patient’s health. It is the patient who decides how to call the source of that universal energy, according to his or her belief system, be it God, Allah, etc., if the patient so wishes. Truth is, no matter what label is imposed onto it, the effect is the same, since what gives Reiki its strength to work is the positive intention of the Reiki healer towards the patient. Once the healer allows those energies to use her/him as a vehicle, the laws of the universe take control and act in all of their wisdom. Hence, it is very important for the Reiki healer to respect his/her patients’ beliefs, and to allow the energy to do its job.
Reiki is based in ancient wisdom that was once lost to oblivion. The system was rediscovered by Mikao Usui, Japanese doctor, and teacher who for ten years, completely dedicated his life to searching the answer to the following question: How did the great teachers such as Jesus Christ and Buddha, among others, were able to heal others through the imposition of hands? His search led him to deeply study the different religions and to travel to Buddhist monasteries in Japan until he found an ancient Sanskrit writing from Tibet. After 21 days of meditation and fasting, Usui received the answer he sought. That is how this ancestral knowledge is revived and as of today, it is practiced around the world, with excellent results. Even some traditional medicine hospitals have integrated Reiki as part of their therapy offerings since they recognize the positive impact on the patient’s recovery time.
You may be asking yourself, what are the uses and benefits of Reiki? One of the major benefits is, it not only works at a physical level, treating the different disharmonies in the body’s systems, but also acts upon the mental, emotional, and spiritual levels. At a mental level, Reiki helps us rid ourselves of negative models ingrained in our subconscious, many times themselves the source of the physical discomfort we are experiencing. At the emotional level, Reiki therapy facilitates healing of emotive problems and liberates us from repressed or stagnant emotions, restoring equilibrium, and liberating us from fears. At the spiritual level, Reiki elevates our consciousness and our vibrations, facilitating our reconnection with our Higher Self.
Therefore, Reiki is highly effective among many other uses, as a relaxation method, for pain management, for improving the immune system, recovering from illness or surgery, overcoming phobias, fears and vices, improving efficacy of traditional medicines and minimizing their side effects, cleaning the body of toxins, improving sexual performance, helping terminal patients to physically and spiritually prepare for the death process, and for treating conditions such as anxiety, stress, musculoskeletal disorders, tiredness, insomnia. In short, Reiki is effective in treating any physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual condition. It is important to note that Reiki has no negative side effects. Also, its positive effects are accumulative, and therefore, it is recommended to expose oneself to several treatments.
Another one of the major advantages of Reiki is, it cannot only be applied for healing people, but it is highly effective on animals and plants as well. Moreover, Reiki can be applied to situations, therefore allowing us to direct Reiki energy towards the healing of countries, conflicts, etc. In addition, Reiki therapy can be offered as distance healing, if necessary.
What can I expect when I expose myself to a Reiki therapy for the first time? Although it can be
practiced anywhere and in any position, generally the therapy takes place in a relaxed atmosphere, laying on a massage table, similar to what you would see on a spa or traditional massage practice. The Reiki practitioner may use, to her/his discretion, elements to assist the patient in the relaxation process, such as music, or aromatherapy. The healer will impose her hands on key energy points on your body, keeping them at each point as long as she deems necessary, according to the needs of each patient. If you prefer not to be touched directly, your Reiki therapist may apply the treatment keeping his hands at a short distance from the body, obtaining the same results. Also, assistive tools may be used in the process, such as quartz crystals, Tibetan singing bowls, chromotherapy (color therapy), among others, which, although may be of great benefit in the healing process, are certainly not indispensable at all: only Reiki energy and good will are.
A Reiki therapy session generally last between 30 to 90 minutes, and can have a cost of $45 to $100, approximately what you would pay for a traditional massage session, but with much greater and transcendental benefits. I would like to make clear the monetary exchange between therapist and patient must not always take place. While it is true some people offer Reiki as their means of providing for their material needs (which is perfectly fine and positive), there are Reiki practitioners who may offer therapy in exchange for other ways of remuneration, be it trading of professional services or goods, or simply for spiritual knowledge.
It is important pointing out that in the Reiki process, both patient and therapist are benefited. For the therapist, being initiated in this road represents a transcendental life change, where he will guide his behavior by the Reiki principles, in a constant search for spiritual development, at the service of others. Reiki will become a lifestyle for the practitioner, and an integral part of her day to day.
Remember as with anything under the sun, there are not so serious individuals who call themselves Reiki therapist, who do not have the knowledge or the right intentions. As with any other service, you would seek, investigate first about the therapist’s reputation, his training, and his results. Even though Reiki is not regulated by any agency or entity, several ramifications and schools exist, and your therapist should be certified by at least one of them, be it of Japanese or Tibetan origin. My advice is, in addition to your research onto your therapist’s lineage, listen to your intuition above anything else. If you do not feel comfortable with your therapist, find another one. However, do not judge Reiki results on only one session, since sometimes it takes a while to notice tangible results, and also, do not think the therapy did not have the desired effect if you feel sad afterward. Sometimes, sadness is part of the healing process. Use your good judgment, and listen to your inner voice.
I hope to have awakened your curiosity about Reiki, and your wish to experience the amazing benefits this practice has to offer. Whether you would like to receive a Reiki therapy, or to become a therapist, I invite you to open yourself to the infinite possibilities the universe offers for the improvement of your quality of life at all levels, and above all, for you to find yourself. In the words of Master Usui: “Look inside, enter the silence, and listen to your heart.”
“In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.” Many of us know these words. However, we know little about the creation of our souls. What follows is knowledge I have acquired about this topic from different sources, and through personal experiences with my soulmates. I have tried giving some sense to the different versions I have studied, with the help of my hands-on experience. I do not consider myself an expert on the topic, and on the contrary, I still have a lot to learn. But I am sure someone out there needs to hear this version. I faithfully believe we can all arrive at the same destination taking very different routes. This said, here goes my account.
At the beginning of everything, the creator energy of the Universe (call it God, Allah, Big Bang, etc.), created our souls to its image and likeness. Being such, He/She created them containing both the feminine and the masculine aspects of spirituality. Both manifestations in one same soul: a complete being, a whole. These souls were created in groups with certain attuned characteristics between them, and a mission in common or complementary to each other.
The souls belonging to our group are our soulmates. Therefore, we do not have just one soulmate, but an infinity of them. These are people with which we are going to meet through our different incarnations to accelerate and promote our spiritual growth process. These people manifest in our lives under many different roles, not only in romantic relationships. Your soulmate might be your boyfriend or girlfriend, but it might also be your father, your sister, your son, a co-worker, your best friend, etc. Certainly, these are people with which we feel a special connection, very deep and transcendental.
How many of us have met someone for the first time and felt as if we knew this person forever? This affinity is not coincidental. You most probably just found one of your soulmates. One of the many you could encounter in the same incarnation. Sometimes, even if you do not catch it on a conscious level, at a spiritual level, your soul and your soulmate’s rejoice in the reencounter, following the separation that took place the moment we incarnated into our tridimensional reality, to which we came to learn what unconditional love is, and to find our way back to being ONE with the creating force of the universe.
Up to this point, we have referred to soulmates exclusively. How were twin flames created then? Let’s go back to the beginning, to the creation. Once we were created in our group, to have the souls incarnate in the tridimensional plane, each of them was divided in its masculine and feminine aspect. Meaning, one soul was sectioned, to call it somehow, in two: the feminine self, and the masculine self (this refers to the spiritual aspect, the being’s energy, not to its sexuality). The purpose of this division is for the same soul to be able to incarnate in two bodies at once, in two different manifestations. To be able to see the 3D world from both the feminine and masculine perspectives, which magnifies the capacity for spiritual development, and the richness of lived experiences. This way, when twin flames are ready to reunite, they will come full of a multitude of experiences that will lead them to achieve illumination through the acceptance of unconditional love.
Since our twin flame is part of ourselves, the bond is much stronger than the one we feel for our soulmates. That’s a lot to say, since I can affirm by my experience, the bond with our soulmates is one full of intense emotions. Generally, twin flames do not reincarnate at once in the same plane of existence. Remember precisely the idea of the division is to multiply the possible experiences, so most of the time, the flames will not find each other for many reincarnations.
People who have heard some about this topic but have not delved into it may tend to think of the twin flame reunion as a scene right out of a “pink” love story. Let me tell you, most of the times, it’s exactly the opposite. Our twin flame, being ourselves in the opposite spiritual manifestation (feminine or masculine), becomes a mirror in which we see ourselves reflected. You and your twin flame share the same strengths, and that attracts you immensely, but you also share the same weaknesses. When we look at ourselves in that mirror, we see everything we need to change and improve in ourselves, but we haven’t had the courage to face. That look into the soul’s mirror can be terrifying to many.
As a result, relationships between twin flames can become turbulent. There exists a strong attraction none of the parts can deny, and at the same time, there are strong collisions between them. A dynamic begins in which generally one of the flames is obsessed with the other and chases it, while the other flame gets terrified and runs away from the relationship. This is one of the phases in twin flames relationships, known as “Chaser and Runner” stage. Flames will unite and separate in multiple occasions, with the purpose of having each flame work on aspects of its spirituality that still need to be refined, to be able to reunite with the other manifestation of its soul. It is a process of growth and illumination. Because every aspect of the soul must comply with its individual mission before being ready to reunite with its flame and together, comply with their mission in common. Once the twin flames unite for good, they become a light to guide other flames into the path of illumination. With their example of unconditional love, they show the way for those who expose themselves to the beauty of their mere presence.
It is said twin flames find each other in their last reincarnation, once they are ready to finish polishing up on this tridimensional plane, and elevate to a superior plane with the whole. Until recently, it was said these encounters were few and far between, with few cases throughout the planet. However, the vibrational changes the Earth has been going through, seem to have accelerated this process, since more and more people say to be going through this purification. In fact, many support groups have popped up in social media, which try to back up those immersed in the process, which can be very painful, since our ego resists to giving up all bonds and all fears as demanded by the fulfillment of unconditional love. If you believe this is your case, seek help. Going through this process is quite hard, going through this process without even understanding what it is, is even harder. In the end, only you can face your ego and break the chains that bind you. But until you are ready to do so, your support group will be essential.
I hope this information has served as a guide to begin understanding processes you may be going through and wakes up your curiosity for exploring the answers I cannot provide you with because they are inside of you. Dare to explore your soul.
I have recently been certified as a Reiki Level 2 healer. If you’d asked me six months ago what Reiki was, I would had probably told you it was some kind of relaxing massage therapy. However, once you open to the infinite possibilities the Universe offers, and you accept you have a higher calling and a mission you have been entrusted with, one only you can fulfill, everything stars falling into place on its own.
At the beginning of the year, I was miserably surviving at a job I hated, and I finally decided it was time to close that door, and start doing something that actually made me happy. Since it was a big decision leaving a job that paid well and had decent benefits, to sit home and write a novel, I thought it was a good idea to visit my psychic before embarking in this new adventure. Besides all the chronicles of announced deaths she pointed out, there were two highlights in her session that really hit me: “Your mission has to do with finding what unites human beings, despite their ideology differences” and “You are a psychic, we all are, but you are a strong psychic, and you should develop your talent”.
Knowing my psychic for some years now and trusting her instincts and good intentions, I decided to open myself up to anything and everything that came my way. I enrolled in a Tarot course, and I made an appointment to get a past life regression. During the Tarot course, one of the participants complained about feeling affected by an energy in the room. My psychic asked if any of us had been trained in Reiki. Three persons stood up, and they began cleaning the woman’s aura, while the psychic sang a beautiful healing song. That was my first real encounter with Reiki. A week later, “out of the blue”, I received a call from my cousin, telling me her Yoga Sensei was hosting a Reiki Master at her academy, to offer a Reiki Level 1 course, and they needed one more participant to complete the group. And that’s how Reiki found me.
I immediately fell in love. As soon as the Master said Reiki was not affiliated to any religion or creed, and everybody could benefit from the healing power of the Universal Energy, regardless if they believed it came from God, Allah, Buddha, the Angels, Ascended Masters, Saints, the Force, quantum physics, or any other positive source, I knew Reiki was part of my mission. It all came so naturally to me as well. Of course, my past life regression would make it easy to understand, since I had been a healer before, and paid dearly for it (but that’s another story, and someday it will make a heck of a novel).
Last week, I completed the Reiki Level 2 course, which makes me a Reiki healer, officially. This six months have been full of transformation for me. All the little and big details have been falling into place. My mission has been revealing to me like never before, the right people has come knocking on my door. I have been going through a purification process at all levels. My writing, Reiki, psychic powers development, past life memories, all have been preparing me for what’s to come: help others through their challenges with twin flame ascension process. Because, besides all I have mentioned before, another huge process has been filling my days: I have been immersed in a twin flame ascension crash course, and learning about it the hard way! It has been a haunted house/roller coaster from heaven and hell kind of experience, which has ultimately thought me my first lessons on unconditional love. What a ride this has been, and to think this is just the beginning! But despite all the tears I’ve shed, all the times I’ve thought I have gone insane and have been tempted to walk myself into the psych ward, I am really happy I am going through this, and even more, knowing my lessons will give me the tools to help others; that is priceless.
I expect to be writing about twin flames a lot in the future, besides making some videos, and well, turns out the book I have been writing has to do with the theme all along, although I had no idea when I began writing the first kinky notes in a little notebook at work back in January. For those who are intrigued by the twin flame phenomena, I will soon write a piece on what it is, and what it is not, beginning with making sure you understand the difference between a soulmate and a twin flame, terms which are wrongly used as synonyms.
My life has changed drastically, and will keep changing. Changing for the good! I have found my north. I have been working hard on rediscovering self-love, the first requisite to be able to love others, which ultimately will help me be a better me, a better mom, a better friend, a better human being. I hope sharing my journey with you will help you open up to your own mission, to listening to your call, waking up from the illusion of separation, and finally realizing we are all in this together because we are all ONE.
How many times have you looked at yourself in the mirror and have not recognized the person you see? This becomes very common when we disconnect from our bodies, mainly because we do not like what the mirror presents.
Looking good is an obsession of our times. We are constantly bombarded with images of impossible bodies, many of which have become so thin by extracting ribs and other risky medical procedures. I do understand some procedures are necessary, when a person’s health is at imminent risk due to their excess weight. Those are not the cases I am referring to. But I am sure you all know someone who is constantly complaining about the way they look, and you just cannot understand why, for they look just fine to you.
We have unreal expectations, wanting to look in real life like a model who has been airbrushed in the magazine’s pictures. Worse than that? We have a very perverted idea of what beauty is in the first place. External beauty is like fashion: the concepts come and go with time, just like bell-bottoms. Don’t believe me? Just check out the art of the Renaissance, where women were depicted as is, including love handles and cellulite. That was in and sexy, considered a sign of health and fertility. Therefore, if parameters for external beauty are as changing as the weather, how are we supposed to keep up with the standards? Actually, we are not! The moment we understand that concept, we liberate ourselves from a heavy burden.
Consider this: how would the state of the human consciousness change if people invested just one fourth of the time they spend worrying about their external looks, actually taking care of their internal self? See, the thing is, the more you cultivate your internal beauty, the better you look on the outside! When you feel good about yourself, you emanate a beautiful energy that is perceived by others. That, in turn, makes you a beautiful person, appreciated by others for WHO you are, not for your measurements, height, and weight combination.
Accepting our bodies as they are, is the first step to actually attaining the changes you want. It’s the law of attraction, for it permeates and applies to everything in our lives. See, it’s OK to want to lose weight, but we have to start by being grateful for what we have TODAY. This body that you despise so much, is the one that has blessed you with all the emotions (positive and negative) that you have felt so far. Even if it looked different at some other point, it is still the same body; you didn’t move into a new host. How could we not be thankful for this marvelous perfect machine that allows us a 3D/4D experience to help us grow?
Once we are grateful for what we have, we can picture our bodies as we want them to look (visualization). One piece of advice though: go about this with the right intentions. Change your eating habits, not because you want to lose 30 pounds in 30 days and make your ex repent from leaving you. Change your eating habits because you understand it will help you be healthier, have more energy, and feel happier. Don’t begin an exercise program because your co-worker gets more attention from the boss due to her awesome figure. Begin an exercise program for its physical and mental benefits. See, the mindset is a very powerful tool. And everything in life is about intention. The purpose behind your actions DO matter greatly.
One thing is for sure, once you begin showing your body you love it as it is right now, you open the door for wonderful transformations. Go ahead, look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself how beautiful you look! Concentrate on those features of your body you actually like the most, and enjoy looking at them and celebrating them. I assure you this exercise will boost your self-esteem and help you overcome your complexes.
Remember, external beauty as sold by Hollywood is just a standardized measurement, like the SAT’s. And there is nothing standard about human beings. We are unique expressions of God’s love, and we are to appreciate our differences and particularities, for they make us WHO WE ARE.
Believe is a word that contains Faith within its roots. It’s amazing how things you think you imagined, become reality within our minds. It’s like when you get to know something you never heard of before, and then the universe sends you instant confirmations.
A few months ago, I got certified as a REIKI healer level 1. I was so excited because I always believed I had that gift within myself. With no preparation or instructions whatsoever, I had helped people before, by using energy knowledge within myself. It was so real, that some people experienced things during the process and afterwards. Still, I was not 100% convinced.
Almost two years ago, I had a nightmare in which my mom was murdered by some evil being. Short after that, she got ill from some disease that took doctors about six months to determine what it was. It was ALS; terrible disease. She was degenerating so fast that after a year, she was not able to eat by herself or wash herself. I tried everything within my reach to help her. I even paid for a stem cell treatment, with no results.
One day, my friend told me she was to complete a REIKI certification, and I saw a ray of light. I really wanted to go, but the spaces were limited. I was kind of frustrated, but I dealt with it. Few days before the certification, my friend called me and said someone cancelled his/her participation and that the space was open for me if I wanted it. My answer was a total YES.
I completed the certification and I had a really beautiful experience. I was really focused on helping my mom get better. The REIKI Master told us sometimes during this process, the person receiving the therapy could have visions and the REIKI healer could see and feel too. At first, I thought he meant that happened at higher REIKI level experiences, but then it happened to me during the certification. I had visions and felt so many emotions and sensations. So I got certified and I was ready to help my mom.
During the first session with my mom, I did not tell her she could experience visions or sensations. At the end of the therapy, I asked her what she felt and if she was able to see something. With her limited capacity to communicate, she told me she saw some colours, which is normal during the process. Then, I asked her if she had a vision and she said yes. She went to a river, she was like 16, and she said it was so peaceful. I also had a brief vision of some sort of old house or barn. I asked her if she was forcing her mind to see something and she said no.
Then, the second session took place. During the process everything was ok, until I got to her legs. I had a vision of some sort of being that was attached to her bones. It was like a parasite humanoid thing, female like. I saw it looking into my face and then going away. I was shocked by it. It was colour grey and it had roots or veins that it used to attach itself to my mom’s bones. Even though I was impressed by it, I remembered my REIKI Master’s advice: If you get to see something scary, don’t abandon your therapy. So I finished it and then, I asked my mom about her experience. This time around, she saw a lot of green energy and she had a vision where she was in a concrete house she had never seen before. I did not tell her about my experience.
I contacted my friend and told her about what happened, and she rapidly researched the internet about my experience. Meanwhile, I drew a quick image of what I saw during the session, and another one of what I dreamt more than a year ago. My friend came back to me with some video of a guy talking about Archons. What I learned from that video really resembled what I saw. Also, I found some visual interpretations in the internet that were very similar to my vision.
A few days later, my niece called and told me about a nightmare she had. She said some sort of devil was in her nightmare, along with a devil dog. She saw herself seating in front of a computer and something came out of the monitor. Then, she was being rounded by a huge rat with a long tail. Next, I appeared in her nightmare and I grabbed the rat and injected it with something. The rat became paralyzed, perhaps asleep or dead. Her nightmare was over. After she told me all this, I decided to send her the picture I drew. Her reaction was real quick. She assured me what I drew was exactly what she saw. I did not tell her about my experience with my mom and yet, we saw the same thing.
About a week later, I recalled a nightmare I had a long time ago. More than ten years ago, I guess. I was sleeping, when something passed through the wall and started to hunt me. I was trying to resist it, since I felt it was trying to possess me. Then, I screamed real hard and when I opened my eyes, I was sitting on my bed and I saw that thing flying away from me and passing through the wall again. I thought it was a nightmare, and laid back again and kept sleeping. The next morning when I woke up and put my feet on the ground, I found a pile of CD cases on the floor and a ruler that I used a lot to draw, on top of the cases. The thing is, the pile of CD cases was always on the left corner of my computer desk and the ruler, on the right one. Then I realized what happened that night wasn’t a simple nightmare. What is really amazing is, both beings were so much alike.
I have to say after this blessing from REIKI, the energy in my sister’s house where my mom was living, changed. On the third REIKI session with my mom, she had a vision of the sea and her mood was a little different. I felt her more peaceful. On the fifth session, she had no vision but saw a lot of white and purple energy in the crown chakra, and green all over her body. The following day, she asked for pasta with chicken and was able to eat it all. My sister was so impressed, since it was so hard for her to eat. My mom was happy, smiling. The next morning, she felt really bad, and died within two hours. All I got to say is, when I got there few minutes later, she looked so peaceful I had the feeling she was finally cured from that ill body she had.
In the end, I think the energy cured her from that parasite that was making her suffer, imprisoning her in her own body. That nigh I dreamt of her and she was giving away white packages to all people around her. On the following nights, my sister, niece and cousin, all dreamt of her and she told them she was finally cured, that she is ok, and not to worry. Now I do believe these spiritual parasites are real, and they take advantage of us thanks to our ignorance.
Independently of our beliefs, all major religions emphasize the importance of having faith. A lot has been said about faith: it moves mountains, it’s about believing without seeing, he who possesses it is never alone. However, many of these phrases become in many people’s lives, a simple cliche we repeat when we do not know what to say. Because one thing is speaking about faith, and a very different one living in faith.
In countless occasions, I have questioned myself as to why do we live in such a constant dissonance with this concept. For example, it is very common to hear people who claim they believe in eternal life, confess their fear of death. It is very hard for me to negotiate this paradox, since if you loyally believe there is eternal life on the other side of the bridge, why then be afraid to cross it? Just like this one, we see many other examples in our day to day lives. It has always troubled me how those who portray themselves as the most devoted to their faith, are usually the first to totally lose their cool in a moment of crisis. Well, faith is not only about putting your situations in the hands of that superior being, it’s also about taking it as a matter of fact that the situation is already resolved in the best way for all involved, in harmony with divine order, and above all TO GIVE THANKS as if it already happened. That is how you demonstrate your faith. Because if you ask fearing you won’t be listened to, if you ask with shame, thinking you do not deserve the help you request, or if you feel your situations are a punishment, then do not expect a miracle.
Faith is not only to be verbalized, faith is to be demonstrated with your acts. With acts as “absurd” as the apostles following Jesus, who abandoned everything: their instruments to earn a living (meaning their fishing boats), their families, their homes, and they went following a man who sold them an ideal. I use this Christian faith example for it is the group I know the best. Imagine, my Christian friend, Jesus appears to you today and tells you: “I will teach you all the secrets of salvation and eternal life, but I need you to trust me, believe you will lack nothing, and to abandon your apartment with a beach view, your job at that private company that offers you health care benefits, a retirement plan, and a Christmas Bonus, and to stay away from your parents’ house, because I need you to spread my word to the ends of the planet”. Would you be willing to leave everything without hesitating and follow him? Or such sacrifices were only expected from people at the beginning of the Christian era? Fortunately, such big sacrifices are not always required from us, but I guarantee it is expected of us a faith that is demonstrated, not verbalized only to die drowned in doubts and complacency.
Once clear in our faith, we must take action towards that we wish, taking for truth it has already been granted to us. Behaving as if we already have that which we have requested, in harmony with the divine plan and for the good of all. Take those little steps that take us closer to our goal. It’s the old adage “Help yourself and Heaven will help you”. With this attitude, we demonstrate our faith. Just like the woman who touched Jesus’ robe among the multitude and she was cured of her ailment. She told herself: “If I only touch his robe, I’ll be healed”. Indeed, the woman was healed immediately, and Jesus told her: “Be encouraged, daughter. Your faith has healed you.”
Another profoundly important element in the process of demonstrating our faith, is to always maintain our head high, a happy mood, a serene spirit, and an eternal gratitude in our heart. The situations, as negative or insufferable as they may seem, always have a reason in the divine plan for our spiritual growth. As such, although we might not understand the reasons behind our sorrows just yet, we must feel grateful for the opportunity to face those challenges which later on, will bring us closer to the perfection of our being. We must see the blessings inherent in all processes of our lives.
Buddhists affirm faith functions as the inspiring energy that opens people up to trusting Buddha’s teachings. For them, faith is a process of confirming the teachings by oneself, through experimentation. It is a spiritual trip where we find PEACE and LIBERATION.
I invite you to commit to yourself, to begin that spiritual trip, where the goal is not other than the realization of your maximum expression as a human being. Because, as that beautiful healing song entitled “Ábrete Corazon” (Open Up Heart) says: “…to reach God, we must learn to be human”. (You can hear the song and read the lyrics here https://dotsub.com/view/b3b90dda-b999-4584-b617-3c4d5ab65d8f).
I know I am not traditional. On Mothers’ Day, I’m sure you are used to be told how great you are, how sacrificed your mom profession is, and how much you do for your kids. But today, being as irreverent as I am, I dare to request that you reflect on your role on your kids’ lives.
You’ll see. A lot is said about all that mothers sacrifice for their kids, all mothers nag so their kids will “learn”, and how important it is for a mother to lean over backwards so her kids have certain things, learn certain things, and avoid certain things. Well, let’s examine motherhood in detail.
Turns out mom, and I include myself, women have an extraordinarily special and difficult role. We are interdimensional portals. Wow! That sounds like Star Trek, ¿doesn’t it? Well, we are. We are the vehicle through which a disembodied being, a soul, pure energy, takes a physical tridimensional body and enters in our material reality. Yikes! That sounds hard! Well it is, above all, because the fact we carry those beautiful creatures for nine months inside our wombs, occasionally leads us to think it gives us the right to feel we own them. Nothing furthest from the truth.
Mother, your children came into the world with a purpose (other than cause you stretch marks, gray hair, and end with your hours of sleep for the rest of your life). We all come to this world to learn from the lessons waiting for us, because, if we take advantage of them, they will edify us, and make us better human beings. And that includes your girl, yes, the one that fell in love with that “douche bag” with the pierced tongue, whom you can’t even bear to see. You know what? It is not your place to keep your girl from going through that relationship, and through its possible consecuent love disillusion (although that “douche bag” might as well be a saint. Stop judging people on their appearance!). One thing is to advise her, and explain to her BEFORE falling in love age hits her, all the emotions that she will experience when it happens. And remember, allowing her to watch that soap opera does not count as sentimental education (probably totally the opposite). Now, when the time comes for the girl to fall in love, she will follow her heart or her hormones. There’s nothing you can do to avoid that. For you to get in the way, will only interrupt the divine plan for your girl, and even if you don’t believe it, it delays her spiritual development. Look at it this way, if God sent her that experience, it’s because she can handle it. Remember God will never give us more load than we can bear over our shoulders, and also, he gave us a guardian angel who is willing to take that load off our backs and would carry it for us, as long as we ask for assistance (otherwise, he will respect our free will).
But you, boy’s mom, don’t think this doesn’t apply to you. Yes, you, the one worried that her kid the altar boy, the straight A’s student, fell in love with the neighbor’s girl, the low grades student, the one covered in tattoos, who has slept with half the High School boys, and is not what you wish for your kid. I tell you the same, preventing your kid from having this experience, attempts against his mission in life, since you interpose in the divine plan, and also, maybe that girl is the one that will love him more than anyone else in life (except you, of course ;-).
All these desires to keep your kids from having to go through what you went through or what you saw others go through, is not anything else but a reflection of your own fears. Sadly, we tend to inherit our own fears to our offspring. From the fear of cockroaches, frogs, and rats, to more important and transcendental things like fear of failure, disillusion, and rejection. And here lies our greatest challenge: to inherit my kids with the tools to create their own future and their own experiences, and not to “intoxicate” them with that which binds me. I will give you two very simple examples I dare to borrow from that illustrious Venezuelan who is no longer with us physically, but continues educating us through her wonderful literary work: Conny Méndez (If you don’t know her, google her. You will not be sorry to read her “Little Blue Book” (El Librito Azul – Spanish version pdf available online for free). I tried to locate an English version online but wasn’t successful. I’ve been wanting to translate this book into English for several years now. Maybe 2015 is the right time). Conny used these two examples that marked me at 13 years old, when I first read her.
Number one: Why do we tell our kids getting wet in the rain will catch them a cold? Isn’t it
the same as getting wet in the shower? If there is a scientific study showing how getting wet in the rain causes a cold, please, I will appreciate it if you send me this information. Believe me, I already googled it and all I could find was that external stressors might make people more susceptible to getting sick. But science says, people get sick when exposed to virus and bacteria. And if you ask me, I think the local water company’s water has more of those than rain water. Now, our brains are very malleable and trainable, above all in childhood, and it will very likely create the response for which it was programmed since babyhood. So much telling someone they will get sick if they get wet, believe me, their brain will comply and the person will get a cold. Number two: “Boy, stop doing that or you will fall and hit yourself”. May the mom who has never said anything like this (me included) cast the first stone. You know what? The worst of all is not that we are conditioning the kid to fear getting hit, the terrible part is we later tell him: “I told you you’d fall!” Of course he’d fall, since you forecasted it, informed him, nagged him about it, so finally, you convinced him. By this I do not mean you should not stop an unsafety conduct from your kids. That’s not what this is. But how many times have we said that phrase when there is no actual danger. Think about it the next time you are about to use it, and tell me if it was not an exaggeration for the specific situation.
It is important for us to remember our kids came through us, but are not ours. They are individual entities (at least as long as they are part of this material third dimension), with a soul of their own, a mission of their own, and needs of their own. Your kids did not come to the world to study what you wanted to but never did (and if you are alive, you still can!). Nor did they come to take care of you when you are old (What a selfish myth! True love waits for nothing in return). Nor did they come to become your favorite sport’s star, sport for which he or she doesn’t really care, but you think they will get you out of poverty when they hit the major leagues. By all this I do not mean you cannot fulfill your mission as a mom. Your kids chose you (yes, before crossing the interdimensional portal, they talked about it with God). And they chose you because you are the perfect person to teach them what they need to learn in this life, or maybe, because they come to teach you (and tell me there are no children out there that are old souls, and know more about compassion and unconditional love than many adults). However, this teaching you must offer them, must spring from your love and not from your fears. Give your kids the space to be themselves, to explore their capabilities and spirituality openly and without being judged. And above all things, inherit them a positive mind, teach them to see the good in every situation, and offer them the respect they deserve as human beings. That is the best gift a mother can give to her kids.
